COVENTRY City have been shortlisted for a Football v Homophobia award.
Football v Homophobia is an international initiative that exists to challenge discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity and expression at all levels of football.
The Sky Blues have been shortlisted in the Professional Game Award category.
This recognises the club’s commitment to promoting inclusivity and supporting the LGBTQ+ community.
City have close ties with Proud Sky Blues the club’s official LGBTQ+ supporter group.
Coventry showed their support for the LGBTQ+ community in the game against Preston North End last February.
City wore special t-shirts during the warm-up while the matchday programme featured information about Proud Sky Blues.
The fixture took place in LGBTQ+ History Month.
The Sky Blues also raised money for local LGBTQ+ groups and charities by auctioning equality warm-up shirts
Coventry have been shortlisted alongside Leeds United and Leicester City for the award for which all Premier League, EFL and Women’s Super League sides were eligible.
The awards will take place at the Òran Mór venue in Glasgow on Friday, March 7.
Members of the Proud Sky Blues will be in attendance at the awards.
Head of supporter services and fan experience at Coventry, Jodie Jones said: “I am thrilled that the club have been recognised for the ‘Professional Game’ award at the 2025 Football v Homophobia awards.
“We have built a brilliant, working relationship with the Proud Sky Blues and I really enjoyed organising last year’s dedicated matchday alongside them.
“Whatever happens on the night, we are extremely proud to have been shortlisted in the top 3.
“This is a huge achievement and hopefully the first of many.”
