COVENTRY City have completed the signing of teenage striker Norman Bassette from French side Caen.
The 19-year-old joins the Sky Blues on a four-year deal from the Ligue 2 club for an undisclosed fee.
Bassette is a Belgium under-20 youth international and has also represented the under-18 and under-19s sides.
Coventry manager Mark Robins said: “We are delighted to welcome Norman to the club.
“He’s a young player, with good experience already. He has a lot of really good attributes and a huge amount of potential.
“Norman is a confident young man already at 19 and we look forward to working with him.”
He signed his first professional contract with Caen in the summer of 2021, before making his professional debut in September of that year as a 16-year-old.
Bassette made 12 appearances in Ligue 2 the following season and scored his first professional goal – a 94th-minute winner against Grenoble Foot 38.
He spent last season on loan at Belgian Pro League side K.V. Mechelen and scored five goals in 22 appearances.
