COVENTRY City have signed goalkeeper Bradley Collins on a three-year deal from League One side Barnsley for an undisclosed fee.
The 26-year-old will provide competition for Ben Wilson who won the Championship Golden Glove award last season after recording 20 clean sheets in the regular season and two more in the play-offs.
Collins made more than 100 appearances for Barnsley during a four-year spell which included helping the Tykes reach the Championship play-off semi-finals in 2020/21.
Collins said: “I’m buzzing to be here.
“I know how it went last season and I know a few of the boys and the assistant manager and I feel like it’s a club on the up and I’m delighted to be here.
“I was in League One last year, and I feel like I belong in the Championship, and I have big ambitions for myself which fits in with the club.
“We came to the final at Wembley, and it was incredible, seeing the fans there and you could tell it was a massive club and I just wanted to be part of it.
“They did terrific last year, and Ben got the golden glove and I just want to get to work and get my head down and graft.
“They’re a strong goalkeeper group and I want to play football so I’m here to fight for that shirt.
“It’s going to be tough, but I believe in my own ability, and I can’t wait to get involved.”
Collins was Barnsley’s Player of the Season in 2021/22 and was part of the squad that lost to Sheffield Wednesday in the League One play-off final last term.
The Southampton-born stopper was a UEFA Youth League and FA Youth Cup winner with Chelsea before enjoying loan spells at Forest Green Rovers and Burton Albion prior to his move to Barnsley.
