COVENTRY City have announced the signing of centre-back Liam Kitching for an undisclosed fee from Barnsley to complete their summer transfer business.
Kitching has signed a four-year deal with the Sky Blues after captaining Barnsley to the League One play-off final last season.
The 23-year-old scored six goals in 93 appearances for the Tykes after spells with Harrogate Town and Forest Green Rovers.
Kitching said: “I’m absolutely delighted to finally get the deal done over the line and I just can’t wait to meet the lads and get going.
“I can’t wait to meet the lads and I can’t wait to meet the fans and to step out on that pitch with the Sky Blue shirt on.
“I think the stature of the club and the fans coming together is massive and I think I’ll fit right into it.
“I think it’s one thing that the lads have said about the fans, they’re very, very passionate and you have to give them what they want, so I’m all here for that.”
