COVENTRY City have completed the signing of Swansea City midfielder Matt Grimes for an undisclosed fee.
The 29-year-old has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with the Sky Blues.
He becomes Frank Lampard’s first signing since his appointment as City boss.
Lampard said: “I would like to welcome Matt to Coventry City.
“He is a player that I have really admired for a long time and his fantastic all-round midfield qualities and experience will be a great addition to the team.”
Coventry owner and chairman Doug Kind added: “Matt is a fantastic player whom we have admired for a long-time and we are delighted he has made the decision to join our club.
“We wish him every success.”
Grimes became Swansea captain in 2019 and made 333 appearances for the Swans scoring 16 goals.
Swansea replaced Grimes as club captain prior to completing his move to the Sky Blues.
Coventry play Grimes’ former club Swansea this weekend (Saturday, February 1, kick-off 3pm).
