COVENTRY City showed their vulnerability from set-pieces once again in a 2-2 draw away at Oxford United.
The Sky Blues conceded twice more from set-plays after Haji Wright and Victor Torp both put City ahead in the first half at the Kassam Stadium.
Coventry remain unbeaten after four league matches and sit fifth in the Championship table while opponents Oxford picked up their first point of the campaign.
The Sky Blues broke the deadlock on 12 minutes when Haji Wright fired a shot through Oxford goalkeeper Jamie Cumming after the U’s failed to deal with Jack Rudoni’s low ball in from the left.
However, the home side equalised seven minutes later as Lankshear finished on the rebound after Carl Rushworth could only parry Cameron Brannagan’s powerful low free-kick back into the danger zone.
City reclaimed the lead on 37 minutes when Torp blasted a free-kick high into the net from a central position just outside the penalty area.
The visitors spurned a glorious chance to stretch their lead as Cumming denied Ephron Mason-Clark when one-on-one inside the penalty area.
After the break, Lankshear fired inches over the crossbar before Brannagan drew the hosts level for a second time on 75 minutes when he curled a free-kick past Rushworth at his near post from 20-yards out.
Coventry almost snatched the points at the death only for Wright to see his first time shot crash against the crossbar from Tatsuhiro Sakamoto’s cutback.
