FOOTBALL - Coventry City to celebrate International Women's Day during Stoke game

COVENTRY City will celebrate International Women’s Day throughout their game against Stoke City this weekend.

The Sky Blues host Stoke on Saturday, March 8 with kick-off at 12.30pm at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

The game falls on International Women’s Day and Coventry will mark the day by celebrating the role played by women at the club.

Coventry owner and executive chairman, Doug King said: “As ever we’re very pleased to show our strongest possible support for International Women’s Day 2025 this Saturday.

“Women play a huge role across our football club in a range of jobs and we celebrate their contribution to the Sky Blues and our success.

“Through our community partners, women and girls are having more and more opportunities to participate in the game we all love and it is finally becoming normal to see such activities far and wide. This is fantastic to see.




“Everyone is welcome at Coventry City matches. We need your support to drive us to more exciting adventures and we will continue to strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for every single fan who joins on our journey.”

The Sky Blues will show their support for International Women’s Day on the big screen and over the tannoy along with features in the matchday programme and a woman-only pre-match playlist.


Ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, the club saw an increase of more than 20 per cent in female season ticket holders.

The club also support a number of schemes to improve the environment and inclusivity for female supporters

Sky Blues in the Community run a number of projects for women and girls, including their Girls Player Development Centres and Girls Emerging Talent Centres (GETC) with the FA.

They also run projects such as the WomenTalk mental health programme.

Players from SBitC’s GETC will act as ball collectors for the Stoke game.
