FOOTBALL - Coventry City to start season away at Leicester City as 2023/24 Championship fixtures released

Coventry Editorial 22nd Jun, 2023 Updated: 22nd Jun, 2023   0

COVENTRY City will start the 2023/24 Championship season with a trip to former Premier League champions and rivals Leicester City.

The Sky Blues head to the King Power Stadium on the opening day of the season with the game to be played live on Sky Sports on Sunday, August 6.

Leicester won the Premier League as recently as 2015/16 and the game will be the first meeting between the two teams in more than a decade.

City’s first home game of the season is against last season’s play-off semi-final opponents Middlesbrough on Saturday, August 12.

And the Sky Blues end the opening month of the campaign away at Swansea City (August 19) and at home to Sunderland (August 26).

Coventry finish the season with a home game against Queens Park Rangers (May 4) and play Blackburn Rovers (April 27) in their final away game of the campaign.

Over the festive period, the Sky Blues travel to Sunderland (December 23), host Sheffield Wednesday on Boxing Day (December 26) and make the trip to Middlesbrough on New Year’s Day (January 1).

All fixtures are subject to change.
