COVENTRY City under-21s stretched their unbeaten run to six matches with a 2-1 victory away at 10-man Watford.
Goals from Elliot Betjemann and substitute Charlie Finney twice put City ahead with Ali Gould on target for the Hornets at Vicarage Road.
However, Watford’s Travis Akomeah saw red in first-half injury time as Coventry made their numerical advantage count in the second period.
The result means the young Sky Blues sit fourth in the Professional Development League North standings.
Coventry broke the deadlock on 23 minutes as Betjemann fired a shot past Alfie Marriott from the edge of the penalty area via the inside of the post.
Watford equalised nine minutes later when the Sky Blues failed to clear their lines at a corner and Gould fired the loose ball through a crowd of bodies and into the net.
However, the Hornets had Akomeah sent off moments before the break after he picked up a second yellow card.
And the Sky Blues reclaimed the lead on 58 minutes as Finney saw his deflected volley find the net.
Coventry’s under-21s are next in action against Bristol City on Tuesday, April 8 with kick-off at 1pm at the Alan Higgs Centre.
