COVENTRY City under-21’s romped to a remarkable 8-0 victory against Birmingham City under-21s at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
Young striker Norman Bassette scored four goals in a scintillating first-half performance which saw City take a seven-goal lead into the break.
Bassette scored an 18-minute hat-trick while further strikes from Fabio Tavares, Greg Sandiford and Charlie Finney put the Sky Blues out of sight at half time.
And Sandiford scored his second of the game after the break to leave Blues stunned as City cruised to a comprehensive victory in the Professional Development League fixture.
