COVENTRY City under-21s suffered a fourth league defeat in five matches after losing 1-0 away at league leaders Sheffield United.
The game’s only goal came just past the hour mark as Louie Marsh’s strike settled the contest at the Skills People Group Academy.
The result means Coventry sit fourth in the Professional Development League North standings.
United almost broke the deadlock just before the quarter-hour mark as Marshall Francis slid an effort wide of the post from the edge of the penalty area.
At the other end, Coventry could only test Blades goalkeeper Liam Hall from range as the first half ended goalless.
However, the Blades eventually broke the deadlock on 64 minutes when Marsh pounced on a loose pass and found the net from outside the box.
The Sky Blues pushed for an equaliser late on but could not find a way through.
Coventry’s under-21s are next in action against Leyton Orient in the Premier League Cup on Tuesday, November 25 with kick-off at 7pm.
