COVENTRY City have unveiled a new matchday activity area at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
The Sky Blues have created the new space near the outside of the north east corner of the Arena.
This is next to the memorial garden and the east stand fan village.
And the new matchday activity area will be in use for the first time this weekend when Coventry entertain Watford (Saturday, January 25, kick-off 3pm).
Coventry’s head of supporter services and fan experience, Jodie Jones said: “The installation of the new matchday activity area outside the north east corner of the Arena represents another important step forward in us creating a brilliant matchday experience for our supporters.
“The family zone volunteers do a brilliant job and have done over many years, so to be able to give them a dedicated area is fantastic.
“We have also provided a new retail offering in this area too, alongside the Sky Blues in the Community speedshot, and look forward to developing the experience in this space going forward.
“We have worked really hard to get this space in place and it ties in to the other improvements that have been made to the matchday experience at the Arena over the last couple of years.
“The experience for Sky Blues fans compared to a decade ago at the Arena is a world away, and we look forward to fans enjoying this space and us continuing the progress that has been made.”
The club created the new space to become the permanent home for the pre-match family zone activities run by volunteers.
The space will also become a new focus for supporters in the build-up to kick-off.
A retail unit is also included providing more convenient retail options on matchdays for supporters on the north side of the Arena.
And the Sky Blues in the Community speedshot will also move to the new space.
The new space is immediately next to the east stand fan village at the Arena, which already includes food, drink and music.
The new new matchday activity area will be open from 1pm on Saturday, January 25 when Coventry host Watford at the CBS Arena.
