COVENTRY City’s weekend game with Blackpool will go ahead as planned the Sky Bet Championship club have confirmed.
The Sky Blues were quick to quash rumours on social media that Saturday’s match would be cancelled.
Arena Coventry Limited and Coventry City Council are yet to find a buyer for the stadium after former freehold owners Wasps went into administration earlier this month.
A club statement read: “Coventry City can confirm that Saturday’s home game against Blackpool will be played as scheduled at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
“We are aware of rumours to the contrary on social media and we are able to confirm the fixture will be going ahead as planned.
“The Sky Blues have today received written guarantees from Arena Coventry Limited to confirm this to us.
“We remain in constant dialogue with Arena Coventry Limited and Coventry City Council regarding the current situation.
“We know that the current situation regarding the Arena and its operating company is a concern for fans, as it is for the Club, and we will continue to communicate with supporters as and when we’re able to do so, and look forward to welcoming supporters on Saturday.”
Coventry’s match with Blackpool takes place on Saturday, October 29 with kick-off at 3pm at the CBS Arena.
