COVENTRY Sphinx returned to the top of the table after scoring two late goals in a 2-0 home victory against Boldmere St Michaels.
A brace from Damian Kelly saw Sphinx end their five-game winless run at the Cameron Slater Arena as Coventry secured a dramatic late victory.
The result lifts Sphinx back to the top of the Northern Premier League Midlands table ahead of Belper Town on goal difference although the latter side have a game in-hand.
Sphinx broke the deadlock with four minutes left to play as Kelly forced the ball home from close range after Boldmere failed to deal with a corner from the right.
And Kelly struck again in injury time with a clinical touch and finish into the bottom right corner from 15-yards out.
Coventry are next in action against Rugby Town on Saturday, October 18 with kick-off at 3pm at Butlin Road.
