COVENTRY Sphinx saw their winless run stretch to four matches following a 2-1 defeat away at high-flying Basford United.
Sphinx surrendered the lead at Greenwich Avenue after Damian Kelly’s penalty put the visitors ahead on 36 minutes.
However, Basford equalised in first-half injury time as Nathaniel Peters headed home in the final seconds before the break.
And the home side completed the turnaround on 55 minutes when Tyreace Palmer marked his return from injury with a cool finish into the bottom right corner from close range.
The result means Coventry sit 17th in the Northern Premier League Midlands table, four points clear of the relegation zone.
