COVENTRY Sphinx saw their winless run stretch to five matches following a 2-1 home defeat against league leaders Harborough Town.
Leo Wood scored a late consolation for Sphinx after Tendai Daire and Luis Rose netted either side of the break for Harborough at the Sphinx Industrial Supplies Arena.
The result means Coventry sit 17th in the Northern Premier League Midlands table, eight points clear of the relegation zone.
Harborough broke the deadlock on 31 minutes when Daire headed in a corner at the back post via the aid of a slight deflection.
And the visitors doubled their lead on 52 minutes as Rose produced a clinical finish into the roof of the net past Keelan Fallows after showing great strength to hold off Sphinx defender Joe Pursey.
Sphinx halved the deficit three minutes from time as Wood reacted quickest to turn home his first goal for the club from Tyler Haddow’s square pass.
Coventry are next in action at home to Cambridge City on Saturday, March 16 with kick-off at 3pm at the Sphinx Industrial Supplies Arena.
