COVENTRY Sphinx saw their winless run in the league stretch to nine matches following a 3-1 defeat at Anstey Nomads.
Brothers Ryan and Joe Conneely took charge of Sphinx in the league for the first time at Cropston Road.
After a goalless first half, Anstey broke the deadlock on 51 minutes when former Coventry City striker Martyn Waghorn scored on his debut for the home side with a header from a corner.
However, Sphinx equalised on 79 minutes when Jaiy Leydon cut in from the left and curled a shot into the top right corner.
Anstey reclaimed the lead three minutes later as Kyle Tomlin drilled a shot into the bottom left corner from just inside the penalty area.
And the home side sealed the points on 87 minutes when Lewis Gibbens headed in a corner from the left from close range.
Coventry are next in action against Loughborough Students on Saturday, January 24 with kick-off at 3pm at the Cameron Slater Arena.
