COVENTRY Sphinx remain unbeaten at home following a goalless draw with Darlaston Town.
In a hard-fought game, neither side could find a winner at the Sphinx Industrial Supplies Arena.
The result means Sphinx sit 10th in the Northern Premier League Midlands table after three matches.
Darlaston squandered a couple of early chances before Kyle Carey saw his free-kick clip the bottom of the wall which visiting goalkeeper James Storer gathered easily.
Sphinx’s first meaningful effort on the Darlaston goal saw Shay Willock fire into the side netting from Stanley Dube’s pass.
And Dube then kept the ball in play close to the corner flag before drilling a low shot through a crowd of bodies as Storer reacted sharply to turn the ball around the post for a corner.
Darlaston almost took the lead just before the half-hour mark when a visiting player beat Sphinx goalkeeper Keelan Fallows to the ball and lobbed an effort narrowly wide of the target.
Chances were at a premium in the second half with defences firmly on top as both teams settled for a point.
Coventry are next in action against Bedworth United on Monday, August 26 with kick-off at 3pm at the Sphinx Industrial Supplies Arena.
