LOUIS Guest scored an injury time equaliser as Coventry Sphinx rescued a late point in a 2-2 draw at Loughborough Students.

Guest levelled the game in the 94th minute after Roan Newey opened the scoring early in the second half at Loughborough University Stadium.

A pair of quickfire goals late on from Archie Harding and Quinton Zolani Dlodlo left Sphinx stunned before Guest struck at the death.

The result means Sphinx sit 15th in the Northern Premier League Midlands table, three points above the relegation zone.

Sphinx broke the deadlock on 57 minutes when Newey forced the ball over the line after Iddriss Fuseini flicked on Finlay Shorrock’s corner.

However, Loughborough drew level with five minutes left to play as Harding headed in from a cross past Charlie Woods.

And the home side completed the turnaround two minutes later when Zolani Dlodlo tapped home.

However, Sphinx rescued a point deep into injury time when Guest swivelled on the ball and fired a shot into the net after Damian Kelly kept Callum Ballinger’s cross alive.

Coventry are next in action against AFC Rushden and Diamonds on Tuesday, November 19 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Hayden Road.
