COVENTRY Sphinx missed the chance to secure their Step Four status after slipping to a 1-0 home defeat against 10-man Hinckley LRFC.
An early goal from Michael Armstrong condemned Coventry to defeat at the Sphinx Industrial Supplies Arena.
And the home side failed to capitalise on a red card to Hinckley’s Dom Brennan just before the hour mark.
The result means Sphinx sit 17th in the Northern Premier League Midlands table.
The game’s only goal came on seven minutes as Armstrong fired a shot into the top right corner from 25-yards out to leave Charlie Woods with no chance.
However, Hinckley had Brennan sent off on 58 minutes after he picked up two yellow cards in quick succession for dissent.
Coventry are next in action against Darlaston Town on Saturday, April 12 with kick-off at 3pm at the Paycare Stadium.
