COVENTRY Sphinx slipped to a disappointing 2-0 home defeat against relegation-threatened Rugby Town.
Sphinx saw their winless run stretch to six matches as goals from Daniele Reka and Jahvan Davidson-Miller settled the game at the Sphinx Industrial Supplies Arena.
The result means Coventry sit 17th in the Northern Premier League Midlands table, eight points clear of the relegation zone.
Rugby broke the deadlock after just eight minutes as Reka capitalised on some slack defending to finish past Charlie Woods in the Sphinx goal.
And Valley doubled their lead on 67 minutes when Davidson-Miller sent a low effort into the bottom corner from 20-yards out.
Coventry are next in action against Worcester City on Saturday, March 15 with kick-off at 3pm at Claines Lane.
