ADAM Miles’s injury time strike rescued a point for Coventry United as the Red and Greens came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with 10-man Leicester Nirvana.

Substitute Miles came off the bench to level the game at the death after fellow sub Stan Dube reduced the deficit on 75 minutes at Butts Park Arena.

That came after Samuel Muggleton and Tamar Clayton-Naute put Nirvana into a two-goal lead at the break before United goalkeeper Harvey Randle saved a penalty to keep the home side in the contest.

And the result means Coventry sit 15th in the United Counties League Premier Division South table.

Leicester took the lead on 19 minutes when Muggleton turned the ball home from close range after United failed to clear their lines at a corner.

And Nirvana doubled their lead on 44 minutes as Clayton-Naute’s strike beat Randle in the Coventry goal to leave the home side with a mountain to climb in the second period.

The visitors spurned a golden chance to seal the points after the break as Randle made a superb save to keep out a penalty before also saving the follow up.

Randle’s heroics sparked Coventry into life as substitute Dube beat the Nirvana keeper from the left-hand side of the penalty area with 15 minutes left to play.

And Nirvana substitute Kyle Tott then saw red after picking up a second yellow card two minutes from time.

United made the most of the man advantage to equalise in the first minute of injury time as defender Miles leapt to head home and earn the home side a share of the spoils.

Coventry are next in action away at Daventry Town on Saturday, December 16 with kick-off at 3pm at the Master Abrasives Stadium.
