COVENTRY United returned to winning ways with a 4-2 win against Eynesbury Rovers after scoring three second-half goals.

United took the lead through Joseph Agunbiade’s goal before Daniel Cassidy, Stanley Dube and substitute Felix Donkor all scored after the break at Butts Park Arena.

And the result means Coventry sit 13th in the United Counties League Premier Division South table.

The Red and Greens broke the deadlock on 15 minutes when Agunbiade placed a shot past the Eynesbury goalkeeper from Joe Blowers’ pass.

However, the visitors equalised three minutes before the break as Max Kimpton pounced to turn home the loose ball after Coventry failed to clear a corner from the left.

The home side restored their lead on 57 minutes when Cassidy looped a header into the net from Harry Wilson’s cross.

And United extended their lead on 67 minutes as Dube embarked on a superb individual run, showing sublime footwork, before finishing from inside the box.

United sealed the points six minutes from time when Donkor scored on debut with his first touch after Alex Vineall flicked on Karobo Motshweni’s corner.

Eynesbury scored a consolation goal late on as Josh Sugden’s shot deflected into the net off United player Adam Mills.

Coventry are next in action away at Eynesbury on Saturday, January 27 with kick-off at 3pm at the Alfred Hall Memorial Ground.
