COVENTRY United have confirmed John Goodman as the club’s new chairman after Michael Kavanagh stepped down from the role.
Goodman purchased Kavanagh’s shares in the club having first invested in the Red and Greens back in 2022.
And Goodman helped bring a number of investors into the club and played a big role in setting up the club’s youth section.
Goodman said: “I’m really looking forward to continuing the work we have started and working alongside the coaching, playing and background staff to push Coventry United to even greater heights.
“I hope everyone gets behind us now as we move forward from here.”
Goodman will announce further investors in the coming days and weeks.
Local businessman Kavanagh became chairman of United in the summer of 2022 and sought to stabilise the club during a turbulent period, bringing in Carl Nolan as manager.
He also supported the introduction of under-18 and under-21 teams.
However, due to work and business commitments, Kavanagh has found it more difficult to play a hands-on role at the club this season.
