COVENTRY United Women have added 11 players to their squad ahead of their Women’s Championship opener against Bristol City this weekend.

Fran Orthodoxou has returned to the club for the season whilst Simran Jhamat, Meesha Dudley-Jones, Ebony Wiseman, Rosetta Taylor, Hayley Hoare, Keeley Davies, Evie Gane, Arabella Suttie, Megan Alexander and Jodie Bartle have also joined.

Orthodoxou said: “This is a chance to start a clean slate and really kick on with myself at Coventry.

“It’s a fresh beginning and I feel I have unfinished business here. I cannot wait to crack on and build with Lee and Sian and the rest of the squad.”

Jhamat said: “I am so excited to have joined Coventry United and can’t wait for the weekend opener against Bristol City.”

Dudley-Jones added: “I’m excited for the season and to be working under Lee and Sian, I have heard nothing but good things about them both!

“It’s a new and exciting group and we’re ready to face the challenges this season as a team.”

Taylor said: “I’m very proud to have been given the opportunity to represent Coventry United.

“I can’t wait to be a part of this club and to help Lee, Sian, the team and the rest of the club achieve its ambitions this season. Up the Cov!”

Gane said: “I’m really excited to be back playing in the Championship. I enjoyed my time working under Lee before and I am looking forward to pushing on under him again.”

Suttie added: “Really pleased to have signed for Cov, very grateful for the opportunity to get back on the pitch again. I can’t wait to get the season started and show everyone what we can do.”

Lee Burge’s new-look side begin their Championship campaign at home to Bristol City on Sunday, August 21 with kick-off at 2.30pm at Butts Park Arena.
