COVENTRY United Women are now the only team yet to earn a point in the Barclays Women’s Championship this season after they were beaten 3-0 away at Crystal Palace Ladies.
The Red and Green fell behind just before half time and conceded twice more after the break to drop to the bottom of the table at Hayes Lane.
Coventry have zero points from their opening two matches having suffered a narrow defeat at home to Bristol City in their season opener.
Despite the final scoreline, the Red and Greens almost took the lead when Meesha Dudley-Jones unleashed a curling effort that was well kept out by Palace goalkeeper Fran Kitching high to her right.
However, Palace took the lead on the stroke of half time when Molly Sharpe found the bottom left corner to put the home side ahead at the break.
And despite Coventry starting strongly in the second period, Palace doubled their lead on 64 minutes when Annabel Blanchard struck into the bottom right corner
The home side wrapped up the win in injury time when substitute Elise Hughes turned the ball home following a goalmouth scramble.
Coventry are next in action at home to Charlton Athletic on Sunday, September 11 with kick-off at 2pm at Butts Park Arena.
