ASTON Ellard scored a late winner as Coventry City under-21s returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory against Fleetwood Town.
Ellard scored one minute from time to restore Coventry’s lead after Rylie Siddall put the young Sky Blues ahead at Poolfoot Farm.
The result means Coventry sit fourth in the Professional Development League North table.
City took the lead on 37 minutes when Siddall opened the scoring shortly before half time.
However, the home side drew level one minute after the interval.
The Sky Blues reclaimed the lead at the death as Ellard struck on 89 minutes to bring an end to City’s four-game losing run in all competitions.
Both teams finished the game with 10-men as City’s Ryan Howley picked up a second yellow card seven minutes into injury time along with a Fleetwood player.
Coventry’s under-21s are next in action against Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday, February 25 with kick-off at 1pm at the Alan Higgs Centre.
