ELLIS Simms ‘loved every minute’ of Coventry City’s stunning come-from-behind win against Luton Town.

Simms started City’s comeback just before the hour mark as Victor Torp levelled the game and Haji Wright completed the turnaround in injury time after Luton took a two-goal lead into the break at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

And after ending his six-game goal drought in the league, Simms insists the Sky Blues kept believing despite facing a two-goal deficit at half-time.

Simms said: “I loved every minute of it. A massive result for us and I am sure that will do us the world of good.

“We did not stop believing. The fans at two-nil, could easily have turned on us, and it could have ended a bit sour, but they stuck right by us and we repaid them by digging in.

“We knew at half time the next goal was crucial and we managed to get that. From there, we were on the front foot and we managed to get two, then the winner so it is great.

“We carried on playing well and kept our heads up. We are not that group of players that sulk and at two-nil down give up, we fight and we know at two-nil we can get back in the game. We have done it before.”

The win lifted City out of the Championship relegation zone with the Sky Blues now one point above the drop.

Simms added: “We would like more points than we have. At the minute we are not creating as much but we are not worried about the goals, as long as we are winning as a team that is the main thing.

“The manager keeps reiterating that if we keep getting into the right positions the goals will come.

“We know we have three tough games before the next international break, so we want to recover now and have a great week in training.”

Coventry are next in action against Middlesbrough on Saturday, November 2 with kick-off at 3pm at the Riverside Stadium.
