EPHRON Mason-Clark’s goal helped league leaders Coventry City return to winning ways with a 1-0 victory against Bristol City.
Mason-Clark scored the game’s only goal on 64 minutes as the Sky Blues secured a seventh successive home win at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
The result means Coventry remain five points clear of Middlesbrough at the top of the Championship table.
Frank Lampard’s side went close early on as Haji Wright saw his low effort come back off the post from Jack Rudoni’s through ball.
At the other end, Sinclair Armstrong controlled a ball into the box on his chest and volleyed a shot towards goal on the turn which Carl Rushworth held diving low to his left.
Coventry went close again later in the first half when Robins goalkeeper Radek Vitek denied both Tatsuhiro Sakamoto and Wright in quick succession.
The visitors almost broke the deadlock after the break as Rushworth tipped Adam Randell’s header from eight-yards out over the crossbar.
The woodwork denied Coventry again later in the second period as Bobby Thomas saw his header crash against the post.
However, the Robins failed to clear the lines as the ball found its way back into the box and Mason-Clark forced a shot home from close range just past the hour mark.
The visitors pushed for an equaliser and almost drew level in injury time as Rushworth superbly turned Fally Mayulu powerful effort from close range behind for a corner.
