EPHRON Mason-Clark hopes Coventry City can learn from their come from behind victory against struggling Hull City.

Mason-Clark played a starring role as he drew the Sky Blues level before setting up Jack Rudoni for the winning goal later in the second half at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

And Mason-Clark insists Coventry must learn from the victory and hopes the performance can inspire future turnarounds later in the season.

Mason-Clark said: “It shows the character the team possess and it’s something we need to carry on from game to game.

“It was frustrating but it wasn’t something we dwelled on and I think we showed that, it’s something we just need to learn from and be prepared for because we might feel that same feeling again later on in the season and the fact we’ve dealt with it is something we might need in the future.

“You always have that belief in the team that we can do that [turn the game around].

“I didn’t know much about it [the goal] but it’s something I’ve been working on, being at the back post to try and help the team.”

The 25-year-old has now scored three goals in his last four appearances since the arrival of new head coach Frank Lampard.

And the forward insists Lampard has brought a fresh energy to the club and admits he must keep performing to a high standard to retain his place in the side.

Mason Clark added: “He’s done something for everyone, and everyone has that new sense of a fresh start and the way he wants to play suits the squad we have.

“Every day and every training session has been good for us to learn and do what he expects from us.

“I need to keep fighting because the squad is good and there are loads of players that can play in that position so with that competition in every single position it’s going to be good for the team and make us better as a collective.

“I haven’t watched it [the assist] back, but it’s off the cuff from growing up and playing in the street, it was off the cuff.

“I’ve felt the confidence with my teammates getting onto me in a good way because they expect a lot from me, and I like that type of pressure.”

Coventry are next in action against Portsmouth on Saturday, December 21 with kick-off at 12.30pm at Fratton Park.
