FOOTBALL - Ephron Mason-Clark praises Frank Lampard impact ahead of Coventry City's trip to Southampton

EPHRON Mason-Clark praised the impact of Coventry City head coach Frank Lampard ahead of the club’s trip to Southampton.

Mason-Clark scored the winner for the Sky Blues in their last outing against Bristol City.

The winger has excelled since the arrival of Lampard at the Coventry Building Society Arena in November 2024.

And Mason-Clark believes the way Lampard sets up the Sky Blues allows him to flourish on the pitch.

Mason-Clark said: “It’s been amazing [working with Frank Lampard].

“Him working with the midfielders is helping me as well and we work off each other. It’s been perfect.

“We’re a very forward-thinking team, it’s just down to how the gaffer sets us up.

“Southampton are a top team but we back ourselves as a team.”

Coventry supporters regularly sing Mason-Clark’s name in a chant to the tune of ‘Sway’ (originally titled ¿Quién será?).

And Mason-Clark admits he always wants to give the Sky Blues faithful a reason to sing the song during matches.

Mason-Clark added: “I love it. I have nothing bad to say about it.

“It’s an experience I’d love every player to experience. I love hearing the song.

“My main objective is to give the fans a reason to start singing it.

“I’ve just got to stay positive and give them something to sing about.”

Coventry travel to Southampton on Saturday, December 20 with kick-off at 12.30pm at St Mary’s Stadium.
