FOREST Green Rovers boss Robbie Savage admits Coventry City loanee Isaac Moore has given him ‘food for thought’.
Moore captained Rovers and scored a fine solo goal in a 3-2 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers under-21s in the National League Cup.
The teenager has made seven appearances for Forest Green in the National League, including five starts.
And former Wales international Savage admits his tactical decisions may have limited Moore’s development so far this season.
Savage said: “What a learning experience for young Isaac [Moore], being in the first team dressing room seeing how first team players conduct themselves.
“Isaac Moore’s playing as a six in a 4-2-3-1 at times. We’ve got the capabilities to play a three in midfield, with two eight’s, with the running power of Isaac.
“That’s what we got him in for. That’s what I’ve seen.
“Maybe I’ve limited him in his performances because of the shape of the team.
“He’s done okay as a six but he captained the side, he’s a great kid, he wants to learn, his performance was brilliant.
“The goal, the way he opened those legs and ran the length of the pitch was magnificent.
“He’s given me food for thought now.”
Moore put Forest Green back in front just past the hour mark as he ran with the ball from just outside his own penalty area, played a one-two and found the net from eight-yards out.
Savage also handed the captain’s armband to 19-year-old Moore and the youngster led by example at the New Lawn by finding the net.
Forest Green currently sit second in the National League table with the club yet to lose a league game this campaign.
