FORMER Coventry City boss Steven Pressley has returned to management after more than five years out of the dugout.
Pressley has taken up the head coach role at Scottish Premiership side Dundee.
The 51-year-old spent the last four seasons as Brentford’s head of individual player development.
He joined the Bees in May 2021 and helped youngsters Yehor Yarmoliuk, Ryan Trevitt, Ji-soo Kim and Paris Maghoma progress from the club’s B team into the first team.
Pressley previously managed Coventry from March 2013 to February 2015 following a three-year spell in charge of Falkirk.
His reign in charge ended after 100 games following a 2-2 draw against 10-man Sheffield United.
At the time, the result saw City drop into the League One relegation zone.
He won 32 games at the helm after replacing Mark Robins midway through the 2012/13 campaign.
However, the club suffered a 10-point deduction after entering administration shortly after his appointment.
The following season, Pressley managed the club in difficult circumstances after a rent dispute ended with the club groundsharing with Northampton Town.
Coventry also suffered a second 10-point deduction in as many seasons after entering administration without a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA).
The following campaign, City suffered an embarrassing FA Cup first round defeat against non-league Worcester City.
And despite only signing a new four-year-deal in September 2014, the club sacked Pressley just five months later.
Pressley’s last managerial role came with Carlisle United where he spent 10 months in charge in 2019.
He has also managed Cypriot side Pafos and Fleetwood Town.
