FORMER Coventry City coach Dennis Lawrence has returned to the Championship as part of the backroom staff at West Bromwich Albion.
Lawrence has followed new West Brom head coach Eric Ramsay to the Baggies following a two-year spell with Minnesota United in Major League Soccer (MLS).
The 51-year-old previously spent three seasons with the Sky Blues from 2021 to 2024.
Lawrence acted as first team coach under Mark Robins and oversaw a 4-1 win against Sheffield United in the 2021/22 campaign.
His last game with the Sky Blues came in the club’s memorable FA Cup quarter-final win against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
However, he departed for Minnesota in March 2024 to become assistant coach at the MLS side.
Lawrence represented Trinidad and Tobago 89 times during his playing career and featured for Wrexham, Swansea City and Crewe Alexandra at club level.
He later manaed Trinidad for two years following spells on the coaching staff at Wigan Athletic and Everton under Roberto Martinez.
