FRANK Lampard wants to create ‘many more moments’ at Coventry City as he spoke for the first time since becoming the club’s new head coach.

Coventry appointed Lampard as the club’s new head coach on a two-and-a-half-year deal earlier today.

Lampard will take charge of the Sky Blues for the first time against Cardiff City this weekend and the new City boss wants to create

Lampard said: I am absolutely delighted to be here, a club I’ve got huge respect for in terms of its history and tradition.

“Good foundations have already been laid with the work Mark [Robins] did and with the work Doug King is now doing at the top of the club.

“It’s ambitious, it’s a club that wants to move forward and I want to help as much as I can.

“I’ll give absolutely everything, hopefully I can create many more moments at this club.

“It was a very clear process, hopefully we’ve got everything in place to move forward, I’ve got my idea of how I want my teams to play.

“I want to bring an exciting and attacking team for the fans to see, a possession-based team who also want to attack and attack quickly to excite the fans.

“We want to be an aggressive team as well who want to win the ball high up the pitch, there are things we want to change and in that process we have to get a lot of work in to get the results we want.

“I’m ready to put the work in, the priority is the game on Saturday, we’ll bring our skills together to try and bring success here, I’m really excited.”

Coaches Joe Edwards and Chris Jones will support head coach Lampard in his new role.

The club have also confirmed the departure of first team coach George Boating.

Coventry host Cardiff on Saturday, November 30 with kick-off at 3pm at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
