HAJI Wright scored a dramatic injury-time equaliser as Coventry City maintained their unbeaten start to the season following a 1-1 draw against Norwich City.
Wright levelled the game six minutes into injury time after Mathias Kvistgaarden’s deflected strike put the Canaries ahead at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
The result means Coventry sit sixth in the Championship table with the Sky Blues one of three teams yet to suffer defeat in the division.
Frank Lampard’s side spurned a couple of early chances to take the lead as both Ephron Mason-Clark and Wright failed to sort their feet out when well-placed in the box.
Mason-Clark then headed Tatsuhiro Sakamoto’s cross from the right against the post from 10-yards out when left unmarked in the box.
However, Norwich broke the deadlock against the run of play on 17 minutes when Kvistgaarden controlled Jakov Medic’s pass and saw his low shot deflect past Carl Rushworth and into the bottom right corner.
Coventry looked to respond to the setback as Wright saw his header deflect behind before Victor Torp fired over the crossbar from distance.
The visitors could have doubled their lead before the break only for Josh Sargent to fire over the crossbar from inside the penalty area.
However, the Sky Blues equalised six minutes into injury time when Milan van Ewijk’s sliding challenge prevented Harry Darling from clearing the ball from inside the Norwich penalty area.
The loose ball fell at the feet of Ellis Simms who saw his effort saved into the path of Wright who bundled the ball home from close range at the back post.
