COVENTRY City defender Joel Latibeaudiere insists new head coach Frank Lampard has ‘totally changed the mood’ at the club.
The Sky Blues lost for the first time under Lampard at West Bromwich Albion in midweek following a weekend victory away at Millwall.
And Latibeaudiere has no doubt only good things will come from Lampard’s appointment over the course of the season.
Latibeaudiere said: “It’s been really good. He came straight in and totally changed the mood, which was massive, not just the players, but the whole staff in the building.
“It’s always tough for a manager coming in when the season has kicked off, because he wants to get his message across and get his way of playing and straight into the boys.
“We’re still learning, but we’re going to get better each game, working hard every day, and I’ve got no doubt that only good things will come.”
Latibeaudiere played the full 90 minutes in the 2-0 defeat at The Hawthorns as goals from Alex Mowatt and Karlan Grant condemned City to defeat.
However, the Jamaica international felt the scoreline would have been different if City had taken their chances.
Latibeaudiere added: “The second goal, I think that’s on me personally. Grant drops in, gets the ball, turns, and he just shifts past me too easily.
“I said that after the game. I took that one, I’ll look back at that, and I’ll learn from it, and one that it happened again.
“It was a tough game. I don’t think the scoreline reflects how the game was.
“I think at the end of the day, West Brom took their chances, and we didn’t take ours.
“We’ve got a game in two days and that’s the beautiful thing about football. We’ve got a chance to correct it, a chance to go and put it right and get the CBS rocking again.”
Coventry are next in action against Hull City on Saturday, December 14 with kick-off at 12.30pm at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
