FOOTBALL - Joel Latibeaudiere praises Frank Lampard's 'winner's mentality' as Coventry City prepare for Stoke City test

JOEL Latibeaudiere praised Frank Lampard’s ‘winner’s mentality’ ahead of Coventry City’s clash against Stoke City this weekend.

Latibeaudiere has started each of Coventry’s last four games which includes three wins and two clean sheets.

The defender has impressed since returning to the starting line-up earlier this month.

And Latibeaudiere believes head coach Lampard has brought his winning mentality as a player to the Sky Blues.

Latibeaudiere said: “Every time I step onto the pitch it’s a blessing. You can’t take it for granted.

“I always know hard work pays off. Just getting my head down and getting back to basics.

“That’s why we’ve been so good this season. Training has been at such a higher pace and really intense.

“The way we work on the training pitch is the reason why we are where we are.

“The gaffer and his staff have brought a winner’s mentality and how important it is to train as you play.”

Coventry head into this weekend’s clash off the back of three successive victories.

And Latibeaudiere believes the Sky Blues are starting to rediscover their best form.

Latibeaudiere added: “It’s been great to be in the team and back playing.

“Getting the three points in the last three games was massive, especially the two away games back-to-back.

“Our way form dipped slightly. Being able to back up the home game with two away wins was a really big step forward.

“We weren’t lacking confidence. The Championship is not just a straight incline.

“You’re going to have dips [in form] now and again but players are starting to find their form again.”

Coventry are next in action against Stoke on Saturday, February 28 with kick-off at 3pm at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
