COVENTRY City players and staff will complete a lap of appreciation following the conclusion of their final game of the season this weekend.
The Sky Blues host Queens Park Rangers at the Coventry Building Society Arena on Saturday, May 4 as City look to finish another memorable campaign on a high.
Despite missing out on a play-off place, Coventry embarked on a remarkable run to the semi-finals of the FA Cup for the first time in 37 years.
That run included a stunning late win at Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers in the quarter-finals before losing on penalties to Manchester United at Wembley after producing an extraordinary three-goal comeback.
In the league, City recorded fine wins against rivals Leicester City and promotion hopefuls Leeds United.
Players, squad members and staff will assemble pitchside before starting the lap.
The club has stressed the lap of appreciation can only take place if supporters remain in the stands and refrain from entering the pitch.
Entering the pitch is a criminal offence, and fans who do so under any circumstances face police action as well as a ban from Coventry City matches.
Sky Blues boss Mark Robins said: “The support from the Sky Blue Army has been absolutely fantastic both home and away, and at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-final too.
“We have shared some great memories and moments together this season – this Saturday gives us all, as players, staff and the club, an opportunity to thank our fans for their support this season.
“For that to happen, it is of course imperative that supporters do not go on the pitch at any point.
“We look forward to Saturday’s game, which is extra special as we welcome back former players for Legends Day as well, and being with our supporters one more time before thoughts turn to the 2024/25 season.”
Coventry’s clash with QPR takes place on Saturday, May 4 with kick-off at 12.30pm at the CBS Arena.
