LEO Brown’s late goal earned Coventry Sphinx a point in a 1-1 draw away at Lye Town on Easter Monday.
Brown equalised for the visitors four minutes from time after Prince Henry put Lye ahead shortly before the break at The Sports Ground.
That came after Sphinx suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Sutton Coldfield Town two days earlier as Jack Burgess scored the game’s only goal on 82 minutes at the Sphinx Industrial Supplies Arena.
The results mean Coventry sit 16th in the Northern Premier League Midlands table, eight points clear of the relegation zone.
Against Lye, the home side took the lead on 42 minutes when Henry finished from close range after Sphinx goalkeeper Keelan Fallows could only parry a powerful shot into the scorer’s path.
However, the visitors rescued a point on 86 minutes as Brown deftly lifted the ball into the net at the back post from Jack Downes’ excellent cross.
Coventry are next in action at home to Walsall Wood on Saturday, April 6 with kick-off at 3pm at the Sphinx Industrial Supplies Arena.
