LIAM Kitching insists Coventry City’s trip to Wrexham is ‘just another game’ as the Sky Blues look to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.

The Sky Blues head into the fixture top of the Championship table and unbeaten in their first 12 league matches of the campaign.

Coventry have also won their last six league matches and victory at the Racecourse Ground would set a new club-record winning run.

However, Kitching is only focusing on the task ahead of the Sky Blues in Wales tomorrow night.

Kitching said: “I think this is the best unbeaten run I’ve been on [in my career].

“The gaffer drills into us, it’s just the next game and the next game.

“That’s all we can concentrate on and affect so that’s what we’ll keep doing.

“Over the last few seasons they [Wrexham] have been really good but for us it’s just another game.”

Kitching has helped Coventry record six clean sheets in 12 league outings this season with the Sky Blues leaking just nine goals all campaign.

A run of five consecutive shutouts earlier in the season saw goalkeeper Carl Rushworth break a club record which stood for 91 years.

Rushworth’s run of 613 minutes without conceding saw him embark on the longest run without conceding a goal of any goalkeeper in Coventry’s history.

The on-loan keeper’s form has reportedly caught the eye of England boss Thomas Tuchel.

And Kitching praised the goalkeeper’s contribution to Coventry’s strong start to the season.

Kitching added: “It takes a lot of weight off our shoulders with Rushy behind us.

“He’s a top keeper and a top lad and hopefully we can keep getting some more clean sheets.

“Hopefully he gets that England call-up.”

Coventry travel to Wrexham on Friday, October 31 with kick-off at 8pm at the Racecourse Ground.
