LOUIS Saha branded Frank Lampard’s Coventry City side as ‘almost unstoppable’ as the Sky Blues close in on the 50-goal mark just 17 games into the season.
Saha won two Premier League titles and the Champions League with Manchester United and also played for the likes of Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur.
The former striker battled against current Sky Blues head coach Lampard for numerous honours at club level when the pair played for Man Utd and Chelsea respectively.
Saha also scored against Chelsea for Everton in the 2009 FA Cup final after just 25 seconds before Lampard eventually scored the winner for his side.
And Saha believes the timing of Lampard’s decision to take up the job at the Sky Blues has contributed massively to Coventry’s success this season.
Speaking to punditarena.com, Saha said: “I think Frank needed time and experience to build his confidence as a manager.
“He’s had a few spells with different teams, he’s now settled on the approach he wants.
“He knows his preferred tactics and style of play.
“He has come to a club at the right moment with the right players, in the right stages of their career.
“It’s a great opportunity for them all to come together and find the right formula.
“You can tell it’s an exceptional team and time because they’re scoring so many goals and creating so many chances.
“They’re almost unstoppable, and it’s not just down to one or two individuals.
“Frank, and his players, have done a great job so far.”
