FOOTBALL - Mark Robins knows Coventry City's away form must improve ahead of Middlesbrough test

MARK Robins admits Coventry City’s away form ‘needs to change’ ahead of a trip to Middlesbrough this weekend.

The Sky Blues are yet to win on their travels this season and last tasted victory on the road in March – a 3-1 win at Huddersfield Town –  a run of eight matches.

And Robins insists his side are always looking to improve following a come-from-behind win against Luton Town in their last outing.

Robins said: “Away from home we’re not creating enough chances and conceding too many goals, so that needs to change.

“The signs are there in terms of data and what I’m seeing with my eyes, the signs are there, last weekend’s performance had everything, all the elements you need from a team winning matches.

“Then that belief comes from those type of performances, as well as picking points up because essentially what you’re doing in those games is doing enough of the right things to mean you’re going to win.

“There are fine margins in this division, and we haven’t given ourselves a chance to build on that momentum yet, but we know results have to improve and that will come with the performances and the continuation of the work we’re doing.

“Things are settling down a little bit now, but we’re always looking for that improvement and where we can improve and hopefully that comes tomorrow.”

Coventry travel to Middlesbrough on Saturday, November 2 with kick-off at 3pm at the Riverside Stadium.
