MATT Grimes admits Coventry City’s draw against Sheffield Wednesday felt like a ‘missed opportunity’ for the Sky Blues with promotion on the line.
A goalless draw at the Coventry Building Society Arena means Coventry need just one point from their remaining four matches to seal a return to the Premier League.
Frank Lampard’s side would have clinched promotion with a victory against the Owls owing to results elsewhere.
And while Grimes admits the Sky Blues missed an opportunity against Wednesday, the Coventry skipper is enjoying the pressure that comes with a promotion race.
Grimes said: “It was frustrating. We weren’t quite at our best, especially in the final third.
“It feels like an opportunity missed but it’s another point on the board and another point towards where we want to get to.
“It’s high pressure but it’s a good pressure. It’s the end of the table you want to be at – fighting for points to try and win the league.
“We’re frustrated with the result but it’s a point in the right direction and we’re maintaining two points a game.
“We’ve just got to keep up with that.”
Coventry are next in action against Blackburn Rovers on Friday, April 17th with kick-off at 8pm at Ewood Park.
