MATTY Godden has signed a new deal with Coventry City to remain with the club until the summer of 2025.
Godden has scored 41 goals in 116 appearances for the club since his arrival from Peterborough United in the summer of 2019.
The 32-year-old helped City win the League One title in his first season with the club and hit double figures in the Championship in the 2021/22 campaign.
Godden said: “It’s something that has been ongoing since the summer.
“I’m absolutely delighted and it’s something I’ve wanted and now I can concentrate on this season and next season and see where we can go.
“I’ve enjoyed it more here than wherever I’ve been and my family and everyone else has bought into it. We love the area, and we love the club and it’s something we’re all delighted to get over the line.
“The journey has been special and something I will remember for the rest of my life.
“We want to be fighting where we were last year and I think we deserve to be up there again.
“Nothing is a given in this league. We will go out there and give it our all every game and see where that takes us.”
