PEDRO Mendes believes Coventry City boss Frank Lampard could emulate the managerial longevity of his uncle Harry Redknapp.
Mendes played under Redknapp at Portsmouth as the pair memorably lifted the FA Cup with Pompey in 2008.
The FA Cup-winning boss managed just under 1,400 games in a managerial career which spanned from 1983 to 2017.
Redknapp is the uncle of Sky Blues boss Lampard and Mendes believes the latter’s success with the Sky Blues could be the catalyst for a long spell in management.
Speaking to Thunderpick, Mendes said: “Frank Lampard had some not-so-good spells at a few clubs, but he looks happy now.
“Sometimes you need to find the right club and the right place to rebuild.
“He started young and was already at some very good clubs, and he struggled a little bit.
“Sometimes you need to take a step down and start over again, and I think he’s doing it, and he’s doing it great.
“I’m very happy for him, maybe he could go on to have a long and successful career like his uncle Harry Redknapp, starting with winning the title with Coventry City.”
