THE price paid by Coventry City owner and chairman Doug King to purchase the Coventry Building Society Arena has been revealed.
According to Frasers Group’ half-year report, published in December last year, King paid £50million to buy the Arena.
Led by former Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley, Frasers Group bought the Arena for £17million in November 2022.
Then newly-appointed Coventry owner King failed in a late bid to buy the stadium for £25million.
However, King purchased the Arena for £50million in August last year.
The purchase marks the first time Coventry have owned their own ground since the stadium was built in 2005.
Coventry marked the occasion with a rampant 7-1 home victory against Queens Park Rangers.
