JAC Redhead’s goal earned Coventry Sphinx a point against Hinckley LRFC as Sphinx battled to a fifth consecutive draw in the league.
Redhead scored the equaliser on 48 minutes to cancel out Tendai Daire’s opener from the penalty spot in a 1-1 draw at Sphinx Industrial Supplies Arena.
And the result means Coventry sit 17th in the Northern Premier League Midlands table, three points clear of the relegation zone with a game in-hand.
Hinckley took the lead on 22 minutes after Aaron Nuttall drew a foul in the box from Gio Dainty and Daire scored the resulting penalty.
The home side were denied on several occasions by Hinckley goalkeeper Will Highland before Redhead produced a confident finish from Dainty’s clever flick three minutes after the break to level the game.
Sphinx are next in action away at league leaders Harborough Town on Tuesday, November 21 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Harborough Town Community Football Ground.
