ELLIS Simms scored his second brace of pre-season as Coventry City came from behind to hammer Milton Keynes Dons 5-1 in the Sky Blues penultimate game of pre-season.
Simms netted a quickfire double before the break after Jonathan Leko’s early penalty put the League Two side ahead.
And second-half goals from Josh Eccles, Kasey Palmer and youngster Bradley Stretton sealed an emphatic victory at Stadium MK.
The Sky Blues made a disastrous start after Kyle McFadzean brought down Dawson Devoy in the box with 30 seconds on the clock and Leko converted the resulting penalty.
However, City were dominant thereafter as Simms eventually equalised on 44 minutes when he latched onto Gustavo Hamer’s through ball and slotted home.
And Simms scored again just one minute later, heading Jake Bidwell’s cross past Craig MacGillivray to turn the game on its head.
City extended their lead on 66 minutes when Eccles fired home from the edge of the penalty area before Palmer curled home just four minutes later from Justin Obikwu’s pass.
The Sky Blues completed the scoring with the last kick of the game as substitute Stretton finished from Tatsuhiro Sakamoto’s pass.
