TYLER Walker scored a second-half brace to help Coventry City on their way to an impressive 3-1 win against Premier League side Nottingham Forest in a pre-season friendly in Spain.
Walker haunted his former club with two fine finishes in the second period after Matty Godden had cancelled out Nicholas Ioannou’s opener at the end of the first half.
The result means Coventry have won both of their pre-season matches thus far having also come from behind to beat Leamington by the same scoreline.
Forest took the lead on 39 minutes when Cyprus international Ioannou curled an effort past Ben Wilson from just inside the penalty area.
However, City drew level in first half injury time when Godden latched onto a through ball before expertly finishing beyond Dean Henderson in the Forest goal.
And Coventry completed the turnaround on 54 minutes when substitute Walker fired home after good work from Jamie Allen, Fabio Tavares and Viktor Gyokeres.
The game was wrapped up on 75 minutes when Forest academy graduate Walker ran through on goal before producing a fine finish to extend City’s lead.
Coventry are next in action away at Oxford United on Saturday, July 16 with kick-off at 3pm at the Kassam Stadium.
